Born and raised in Los Angeles, you might think that I would have done everything there is to do downtown. Well, all I can say is, I wish. Even though I have been to DTLA a few dozen times there is still SO much I haven’t seen. With the revitalization going on, there is constantly something new to do. Whether it be a pop-up museum, event, or new restaurant the list of things to do in the downtown area goes on forever. So when it comes to spending a day in DTLA its best to have a plan. Lucky for you, I’ve compiled a checklist to help guide you through your next downtown adventure.


  1. Check out LA LIVE– whether you go to a game, eat at one of the restaurants, or visit the Grammy Museum, you’re bound to have a good time.
  2. Visit The Broad.
  3. Wander around the LA Plaza Historic District and walk around Olvera Street.
  4. Admire the architectural details of Union Station and grab a drink at The Streamliner.
  5. Catch a ride up Angel’s Flight Railway.
  6. Attend an event or just hang out in Grand Park.
  7. Dare to experience the SkySlide at Oue Skyspace.
  8. Grab a drink at one of the dozen rooftop bars.
  9. Eat your heart out at Grand Central Market.
  10. Learn the unique history of downtown on a DTLA Walking Tour.
  11. Pursue the shelves of The Last Bookstore.
  12. Indulge in some craft beer at one of the many Art District Breweries.
  13. Visit the Hauser & Wirth art gallery.
  14. Discover Chinatown.
  15. Get the best views of LA at City Hall’s Observation Deck.
  16. Dine at one of the MANY amazing DTLA restaurants.
  17. Spend the day at ROW DTLA.
  18. Check out the DTLA Art Walk.
  19. Shop the latest fashion trends at Santee Alley.
  20. Walk around the Historic Core.
  21. People watch at Pershing Square.
  22. Pick up a new houseplant while wandering through the Flower District.
  23. Explore the exhibits at MOCA.
  24. See the whole city by scooter.
  25. Catch a concert at the Walt Disney Concert.
  26. Watch a movie with the Rooftop Cinema Club.
