In Los Angeles, we take our ice cream very seriously. With just one quick Yelp search you’ll quickly understand what I am talking about. From more classic spots like Yogurtland and Baskin-Robbins to more new and artisanal shops like Salt and Straw, finding a good ice cream spot in LA isn’t the easiest of tasks. That is why I have rounded up my current favorite ice cream shops for when you’re in a mood for that perfect sweet treat! Read more
I really don’t know why I didn’t write this post sooner!
A few months ago I finally had the chance to take Hayden somewhere she has been dying to go, The Beverly Hills Hotel. A weird request for a 6-year-old, right? Well, if you know Hayden, it really wasn’t. She is a budding movie buff and ever since watching Troop Beverly Hills she just had to go. So one day when we found ourselves in the area with nothing to do, I figured what better time to visit. Thanks to the help of my BFF, who just so happens to work there, I was able to make one of Hayden’s little dreams come true! Read more
Like I said in my last post, a lot has been going on recently. Just a few weekends ago we had the chance to visit the Museum of Ice Cream while it was still in LA. Okay, so our visit was not by “chance.” I was literally on my computer the second they added additional tickets to this place because they completely sold out the first time around. If you didn’t know, the Museum of Ice Cream was the place to be this summer in LA and with all the hype surrounding it we just had to go.
So, was it worth it??
Here is the skinny on the Museum of Ice Cream… Read more
I feel like we are already in the dog-days of summer and our break just started! It’s already July and I don’t even have a decent tan yet! Haha. Anyways, the other day I took the girl to a local park that sits just above the beach. It was such a beautiful day; Sunny, warm, cloudless sky, and just a slight ocean breeze. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Read more
June has finally arrived and summer is just around the corner! That being said, I have already begun to plan different activities to keep the kids and I entertained during those long summer days. While we’ll be frequenting the beach and park quite often, I have tried to think of other activities that are both educational and fun. So as a sort of “test run” of said activities, I recently took the girls to visit the Lomita Railroad Museum. While I was super enthusiastic about our impending visit, Hayden (my oldest) didn’t seem to be thrilled with the idea. Lucky for me, her tune changed once we arrived. Read more
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, then you already know that this past Thursday we attended our first Dodger game of the season. It was also a memorable night because it was Holland’s very first game ever! Kind of a big deal for us since it’s become a little family tradition. Read more
We currently are experiencing some absolutely gorgeous weather over here in LA and I am loving every minute of it! Of course, with all this warm weather I can’t help but want to be outside. So the other day Holland and I decided to step out and enjoy all the sunshine by taking a little trip to see the Morrell House in Redondo Beach. Read more
Many people are aware of the Getty Museum, but not too many people know that there are in fact TWO. While the Getty Center (the beautiful, gigantic white structure just off the 405) is one of the most popular museums in L.A., the Getty Villa, in Malibu, is the original “Getty Museum.” Located just off P.C.H., the Villa houses the Getty’s collection of ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art. A multi-level and immersive experience, the Getty Villa is unlike any other museum found in Los Angeles. Read more
