In Los Angeles, we take our ice cream very seriously. With just one quick Yelp search you’ll quickly understand what I am talking about. This post should have been published a lot sooner but for various reasons (which I will soon explain) I am just now getting around to it. Honestly, I debated writing this post at all but now, in a sense, I find it therapeutic. 2017 was filled with a lot of ups and downs and was one of the most difficult years for me. But after going through all the photos from this past year and reliving some memories, I felt it important to share. Nowadays, especially with social media, it’s easy to think that everyone has their life together. But in reality that isn’t always the truth. Case and point: my life. Yes, I am very fortunate and have so many things to be thankful for but my life is far from perfect. And you know what? That’s okay. And while I enjoy sharing the fun and exciting moments in my life I feel it also necessary to talk about the not so good times.
So with that being said, here are all the ups and downs of 2017… Read more
This one is for all my last-minute shoppers! But seriously, no judgment because I am in exactly the same boat as you. It seems like every year I promise myself I won’t wait until the very last minute and every year I end up in the same predicament. Oh well, a little bit of pressure never hurt anyone, right? I really don’t know why I didn’t write this post sooner!
A few months ago I finally had the chance to take Hayden somewhere she has been dying to go, The Beverly Hills Hotel. A weird request for a 6-year-old, right? Well, if you know Hayden, it really wasn’t. She is a budding movie buff and ever since watching Troop Beverly Hills she just had to go. So one day when we found ourselves in the area with nothing to do, I figured what better time to visit. Thanks to the help of my BFF, who just so happens to work there, I was able to make one of Hayden’s little dreams come true! Read more
Believe me when I say I am no fashionista or style guru. In fact, as I write this I am in grey sweats and an over-sized sweater. Don’t get me wrong, I love shoes and clothes as much as the next girl but comfort and ease take priority in my life. Plus, with the holidays coming up I don’t necessarily have the extra funds to spend just on my closet. Luckily, I may have found the perfect solution to my fashion dilemma. Read more
I have been totally dropped the ball. My social posts have dwindled and I can’t remember the last time I wrote a decent post. Especially considering I have my very own site now (insert palm to face emoji.) Granted there has been a lot going on in my life (a big move and even a new job) but I feel like I could have done a better job of staying focused on this dream of mine. Read more
Notice anything new?? MY DAY IN LA is finally live!! I finally took the plunge and created my very own domain and self-hosted site! Not going to lie, this whole process was not a walk in the park and at one point I was just so over it but I am so happy with how it turned out. Read more
School is finally back in session and fall is just around the corner! Although I will miss summer dearly, fall in Los Angeles is seriously the best time of year. I know we don’t get to experience the whole “changing of the seasons” bit, but during this time of year, we have the best weather ever. If you live here then you already know, but if you plan on visiting anytime soon I’d suggest coming during the months of September-November. Not only is the weather nearly always in the upper 70s but the crowds of summer have all gone. Plus, there a ton of fun fall activities. So today I am going to be sharing a few of my favorite things to do in LA during the fall. Read more
Like I said in my last post, a lot has been going on recently. Just a few weekends ago we had the chance to visit the Museum of Ice Cream while it was still in LA. Okay, so our visit was not by “chance.” I was literally on my computer the second they added additional tickets to this place because they completely sold out the first time around. If you didn’t know, the Museum of Ice Cream was the place to be this summer in LA and with all the hype surrounding it we just had to go.
So, was it worth it??
Here is the skinny on the Museum of Ice Cream… Read more
